We support the local Neonatal Units in the following ways:
Monthly Morning Tea Visits to the family rooms in the Neonatal Units where we meet with mums and dads and offer support practically with home cooked morning tea and fresh fruit. As ‘Women Who Have Been There’ it’s a chance for them to chat with mums who truly understand what they are going through.
From there we have our Neonatal Mums Playgroup where mums came come with their
baby and other children and enjoy chatting with other mums who have been through the
Neonatal experience. It’s a great support for mums and an environment of understanding.
We have our Country Packs for mums who have arrived here with little or no
items from home. It’s a starter pack with pampering essentials to help them
through their first few weeks.
For Mother’s Day we put on a special morning tea and supply each
mum with a little gift for her and baby to feel special and pampered.
For Father’s Day we put on a ‘dad style’ morning tea with cream buns and Iced
Coffee where some of the Dads from our team visit as ‘Men Who Have Been There’.
At Christmas we visit with Christmas Pamper Packs which are gift bags jam packed full of items for mums, bubs and even dads. It has been great to help these families feel special and not forgotten at Christmas.
(A few of our team know what it is like to be in over Christmas).
With all we do we aim to just support mums and families (and staff) where we can with no agenda but to just let them know that we have been where they are now, we have walked a similar journey and do truly understand. With the compassion we have in our heart we hope to ease their load a bit, provide some practical help and offer an understanding ear giving hope and support.
Additional support is available in the form of prayer. Some of the mums in our support group do offer to pray for your child and/or you should you wish, so please feel free to CONTACT US
